I'd just like to announce (to those who were discussing it with me
earlier, mostly) that Final Fantasy VII is coming to the PC this spring
courtesy of Eidos. The game should stay pretty much intact, but there are a
few changes:
1) Dialogue has been cleaned up. Translation has been improved, and
spelling mistakes have been fixed.
2) The game supports mice now, for obvious reasons.
3) 3D accelerator support has been added (natively for popular
chipsets, through Direct3D otherwise), although it isn't required to play the
game. The software-rendered version will require a p166 for full detail.
4) In terms of graphics, the only new additions are perspective
correction (something which the PSX is incapable of) and an SVGA mode.
