You may see it that way, and in one way you are right, but the parent in
a rural school district in the Dakotas where taxes are raised 50% for the
benefit of only one kid sees things differently. You can bet that overall
public political support for public schools in that town went through the
floor as a result.

No, that's not what I'm saying.
What I'm saying is that political support for public schools among the
general public will inevitably be a big casualty of this law.
