PM> The ultimate in flexible configuration :-) Reminds me of the IBM approach

I thought you could do a set to change them?
PM>>> You're really keen to convert me aren't you :-)
PE>> EVERYONE should convert! It is THE WAY!
PM> Hallelujah Brother Paul! When do you start going round knocking on peoples
PM> door, Emacs manual in one hand, disks in the other, trying to convert the

Well the funny thing is the Jehova's Witnesses knocked on my door the other
day, and one of them was an old white bag, and the other was a 30-ish, OK
looking Asian. So rather than tell them to F.O. I talked to them, hoping
that somewhere in the conversation the Asian one would up and decide that
the only way to spiritual freedom was to take off all her clothes.
Unfortunately my hopes and hard reality are two entirely different things.
Then a Greenpeace woman came, a 27-ish white woman, and I was hoping that
as I explained to her why it was OK to store nuclear waste in the middle of
Australia, and it was OK to chop down the Daintree rainforest, and it was
OK to send chemical waste to France, that she would realise that the only
way to convince me would be to go totally "back to the bush" and
take off all her clothes. Another one of these reality vs non-reality
mix-ups I'm afraid.
PE>> I don't think there's any need to do that. I've only started reading
PE>> the manual after about (1 year?) of use. Ok, so do tabs actually work
PE>> the way you want them to work? They don't actually insert 4 spaces,
PE>> they insert enough spaces to put you on a 4-space-multiple+1, e.g. if
PE>> you're on position 2, if you press tab it will take you to position 5,
PE>> press it again and you go to 9. Is that what you want? BFN.
PM> The way you've made the tabs work is the way I want them. Now what about
PM> shift-tab :-)
Shift-tab always goes back 4 spaces, and if it reaches the beginning of the
line it wraps. Did you want that to happen or did you want it to always be
on columns 1, 5, 9 etc? BFN.
