Hi Bonnie,
    As far as Digi's philosophy... it's sort of rapacious toward the
users... Almost any other company will do intelligent upgrades as opposed to 
the Digi way.
    Still, my PT (2.xx) is sweet, particularly when I use just the card
with Emagic's Logic Audio sequencer as the 'front end'!
 
    Awhile back I did some assembly for a film trailer on the Spectral
basic 4-trk system and found the actual layout and functions very similar
to the PT, tho the graphics differed a lot.  Spectral looked very 
...squarish (not as in hip/square ), so I definitely knew that I was
on a DOS machine, as opposed to the rounder look of the Macs...
    Isn't Spectral going thru some major growth changes just now?  Changing 
their name and so on?
