Road kill is certainly not good eats, no matter what the animal.

But venison is very tasty.

I had a re-translated version of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" that put a 
whole chapter back from the original (poor) English translation.  In that
chapter the Professor, Conceil and Ned were watching the fish go by.
The Professor could see a fish and identify it.  Once identified, Conceil
could quote the the latin name.  Ned, though, only had 2 classifications
of fish: tasty and not tasty.

I'm of the same mind for all animals.  8)
