Hello Tom -
TW>>> Being a Corvair Fan as a matter4 of Automobile Trivia I
TW>>> will state that the Corvair Engine was the MOST reliable
TW>>> of any GM had ever built in it's day.
CA>> Only car I ever rolled onto it's side. :-)
TW> They did have a handiling quirk that can come arroind and
TW> bite you. Particualrly the early models. But interestingly
TW> the handiling was very similar to the VW bub but they
TW> didn't have enough horsepower stock to get you in trouble.
Speed/oil/rain will bite just about any car but in any _other_
car I could've corrected the slide.
TW> Incudently did do you rembember when a Corvair Killed Ernie
TW> Kovacs, One of the Great Comedians of all time I think.
I am not normally consciously aware that a Corvair killed Ernie
Kovacs no, but I am a great fan of his work and liked the man
when he was on talk shows. I also admire his wife, Edie Adams,
for insisting that she repay his debts after his death and
kudos to Muriel Cigars for giving her work to help her do it.
Those were times when decency and being nice were the 'norm' not
the exception.
Kovacs skit with the gorillas ("The Banana Skit"?) hitting one
another on the head is still hilarious no matter how many times
I've seen it. :-)
