PS> On that note what would you recommend for the money concious?
Well, therein lies a problem, since when you save money, something has to be
cut to make the unit cheaper. It's usually strength and range. (Strength as
in the durability of the unit itself.)
Samsons have always performed well for me on tour. The latest line of Nady
is ok, but I would always rather have a Samson over the Nady. HME is a line
that was making some real crap before, but has really turned around their
entire line. (We use HME wireless headsets at the opera house where I
currently work, for communications.)
If you can stretch your budget to afford the rack-mountable Samson series
(like the single channel Broadcast, or better still, the multi-channel
units), you'll be far better off in the long run, especially if you're using
it professionally. It'll perform, and hold up, much better.
BTW, I think Nady is now offering a "low budget" version of their UHF models,
which might be something to look into. Be SURE, no matter what you choose,
to play it though YOUR GUITAR RIG (which I can't stress enough), since
wireless -can- change your tone, and you want to make sure that change isn't
too much for you to compensate for.
