 FT> try (f)pritf(stderr), look up atexit() if on your compiler

fprintf(stderr, etc.) works fine with me: appli  log
produces the long awaited list of debug info.

debugging or printing, in this case i prefer the redirection method, it
allows me to automatically compare the results of a former version of the
program (DOS) and its OS/2 port. That's a definite advantage of redirection
compared with a debugger.
