Yep.  I was referring to messages originating from a system - I probably
should have made that clearer.  Messages passing through a system should
be not altered unless there is a technical requirement to do so, e.g.
SEENBY lines (as you pointed out), PATH lines, etc.

I didn't mention anything regarding stripping 8Dh, as this thread is (or
was) relating to ignoring 8Dh when processing messages, as I understood
it.
