JU>> I was reading this bit about 'ignoring soft-cr and lf'. ac>> ... a convention that mail processing software generally uses ac>> when handling inbound mail. Whether you choose to export ac>> 'soft-CRs' and linefeeds when is entirely up to you. PE> To your downlinks? It's debatable about whether it is up to PE> you, IMO you have to send both linefeeds and x'8d' to your PE> downlinks, no choice about it, if that's how you received PE> them, because there is no technical reason for you to change PE> it. Yep. I was referring to messages originating from a system - I probably should have made that clearer. Messages passing through a system should be not altered unless there is a technical requirement to do so, e.g. SEENBY lines (as you pointed out), PATH lines, etc. I didn't mention anything regarding stripping 8Dh, as this thread is (or was) relating to ignoring 8Dh when processing messages, as I understood it. andrew --- Msgedsq/2 3.04* Origin: Blizzard of Ozz, Melbourne, Australia (3:635/727.4{at}fidonet) SEEN-BY: 50/99 209/720 620/243 632/103 341 348 635/503 727 640/201 206 217 SEEN-BY: 640/305 820 822 823 690/660 711/409 410 413 430 431 807 808 809 816 SEEN-BY: 711/934 712/515 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 635/727 632/348 640/820 711/409 808 809 934 |
