Hi Jim!
As the author of Faxit, let me suggest downloading the latest version of
SSFAXER from the http://www.simplesimon.com web site. Faxit is meant
as an easy user interface to the Simple Simon faxing utility which
actually does the fax transmission. The version distributed with Faxit
is a few years old and not well attuned to today's faxmodems. You may
be able to substitute the latest ssfaxer.exe in the Faxit directory to
make Faxit work. If not, then the command line parameters the
utility uses or the error codes it returns have evidently changed. In
that case, you would probably need to manually run SSFAXER from the
command line or from a batch file you create.
As you can tell, I haven't updated Faxit in a while. It was
freeware I introduced without technical support. I hear it is being
replaced by Ecofax as a program to fax from DOS. This program is
shareware which may be retrieved from the http://www.eurisco.com
web site.
Hope this helps,
Jamal
