| subject: | Driver for RTL8029 NIC |
First of all, happy new year! It is in a way odd to celebrate new year
at this point, about 10 days after the earth passes the closest point to
the sun on its orbit.
I have several PCI NICs with the RTL8029 chip. They all use the
PCIND.OS2 driver, of which the current version is 2.2 (which is also
shipped with eCS 1.2). I have, however, never (on many different PCs)
succeeded with this driver; OS/2 gets stuck during boot, with eCS 1.2
the DHCP times out and the network connection does not work. The remedy
has always been to replace the driver by the 2.1 version.
I would like to know the experience of other people with PCIND.OS2
version 2.2.
Regards,
Stephan
