This realllly off the wall, so hang in for a sec...
Been planing a research facility- a raft, or floating island in
the Sargasso sea some 750 mile SE of Bermuda. 15-25 degree North
latitiude, there might be plenty of solar PV power.
But, been wondering about using the sargosso in a methane system
with the biomass used afterwards to provide compost to grow some
archaic grains & veggies with no likely contamination from modern
pollen, and if successful, also a haven for threatened species
in tropical environments.
Does anyone have any data to suggest how much methane generation
comes of a given weight of biomass? and how much power an engine
fed on it would produce? And, any unintended consequences of
methane as an engine fuel?
... Taking messages for brother All, and sometimes answers.
