Although the Beatles have said they had supposedly decided not to
perform in the US until I Want to Hold Your Hand reached #!, I
sometimes wonder if that was just some PR embellishment.  Whether
IWTHYH was #3 or #2 or #1, what British band would NOT jump at the
chance to tour the US or appear on Ed Sullivan?
