Hola Elvis,
-> Our Yellow Cheek had a way of warning you that he was about to take a
-> plug out of something/one by squinting his pupil down to pinsize. Do
-> you happen to know anything about that feature of Amazons?
Yep, it's called pinning, and it means "I'm outta control!" Our Zigs
can just about hypnotize us with those psychedelic eyeballs. She
doesn't bite, but she sure takes a mock bite or two when she gets
overexcited. We try to get her overexcited a lot. I think all
parrots do it- my grey, Nigel, does it too.
-> IMHO they're plenty smart, but I believe they're trying to impress
-> the 'other bird' they see in the mirror. Our YC played by the hour
-> at the mirror, but as he aged (and got cranky) he'd attack his image
-> in the mirror viciously when it didn't respond to his liking. I
-> din't call THAT real smart.....
I never said Amazons were the SMARTEST parrot, they're just the best!
My DYH and grey have become strangely affectionate in the last week.
After years of fighting over food and perches and EVERYTHING, I caught
them feeding each other oatmeal, and Zigs is grooming Nigel's head every
night now. I think they are so sexually frustrated that they are
settling for each other. Strange couple, that.
-> Well come out of the closet and join us!
Hey, I just might one of these days when I get my nerve up. I love to
lurk- Rich's taglines alone are priceless.
