Down here the big problem is they don't bother with all that.
They just take the state mandated VIN number of the tag required
on the dash which is easily read by looking through the windshield.

Drop by the tax accesors office and use the available public records
number to get a name off the tag then off to the car's dealership
with the knowledge in hand to get a brand new key.

Back at the car, insert key, unlock it and drive off :-(
