-> I'm not worried about the boot portion of it, I can probably get that sorted -> out, with LILO or whatever... -> I'm wondering about the install. Been so darn long since I did it that I don't -> remember the details all that much, but my recollection is that I'd boot the -> 98 CD and let 'er rip, which is not gonna give me any options when it comes to -> partitioning. -> Maybe set up a partition first? Following that advice zapped a hard drive here. I used Linux to partition and the OEM Win 98 wrapped the drive so it's not even detectable. Here's a bit of advice. You could do the Windows install first and then use a free limited Partition Magic I've got here in a mini-Linux that worked on the previous drive. Course I'm not sure your ISP allows 11 meg file attaches to get the thing to you. Another option you might consider is using Linloader and after booting to DOS in 98 opening it straight out of DOS as I've done that here as well but it doesn't address the partitioning issue. -> Maybe I need to set up a test fixture and see what works... You can always try Tom's root boot to access Linux to reinstall LiLo after Windows commandeers the MBR or a mini-linux, I've done this as well. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
