I had a West 2x12 combo years ago which I dearly LOVED.  I'd like to have one 
again, since now I can't justify the expense or size of a pair of 4x12 
cabinets just to dink around with.
Generally speaking, though, I agree that combos are not usually the ideal. 
But, if you've gotta have something small, and you don't need to be loud, a 
good 2x12 tube combo is a fairly good compromise.
