The mates' racing go-kart uses a JAP motor fed on ethanol. It idles at about
1800 rpm. Don't think you would want to spin an alternator at much more than
that?
If it is only used as a "back-up" oil use v corrosion might be worth the

Personally, I would use a small two cylinder four stoke motor and feed it
