Simple concepts depend on your background, Ron.  What my gf may consider 
"simple concepts" in educating children would go over my head.  What I may 
consider "simple concepts" in digital signal processing would go over her 
head.
Mind you, these very same "simple concepts" went over our own heads before we 
learned them...
