 That is unusual on the low miledge engine problem. Althouhg I had
 several SMOG recalls on mine it was running like a champ when I donated
 it to a Charity.
As for the paint job my D-50 was flaking off too. The prolbem with mine
was a combination of the Sun, it was Never garaged, and the Smog.
Although as I recal most of the early "Clear Coat" painted cars didn't
stand up very well to Hot Sun.
