It wasn't too bad, Wes. Once I carefully dismantled the case and
housing, it was easy to push the solder tip and a short length of solder
on the bad joint. Of course I had to "re-attach" the severed center
conductor which merely had to be wrapped around with a needle-nose
pliers.
My problem is my close-eyesight. I need new goggles - have to break down
& get bi-focals. With a little bit of squinting, I had it done in a
jiffy! Why pay RS $35 plus parts (solder?) to fix what you can do
yourself at home; The sense of accomplishment makes it even better!
Surprising how well it worked after I fixed it!
