Actually, I realized that it is SOLEY the jumper setting and not the
fixpack at all.  As I had said the thing failed when booting off of
the install disks.  I can now boot off of the install disks 100% of
the time.  Since these are the original install disks (no fixpack)
I can say with complete certainty that the jumper setting is what
did the trick!  I intend to email Treasure Chest Computers and
tell them this!  I am sure they would be glad to cut 10 minutes
off of their production line!!!
