NB>>> Now that's good news for you... ;) One of my nieces recently
NB>>> moved to Texas... previously she had been living in VA, and was
NB>>> near the first VA store to open, she moved to a different VA
NB>>> location, and a new store opened there, right across the street
NB>>> from her... but now she's where there just aren't any at all...
RH>> Does she thing she is able to get a Wegman's to open up just by
RH>> moving to a local area that has none? (G)
NB>> She was hoping that she might be a magnet for Wegmans stores, seeing
NB>> as how it had worked twice before... ;) I think that first VA store
RH> Just happenstance, but why not let her think she brought them? (G)
Actually, she was mostly kidding... :) Except for the missing Wegmans
part, anyway... ;)
NB>> opened was the very first in the DC area, and she'd been living there
NB>> for a couple of years already... And then to have the second one open
NB>> up right across the street from where she'd moved, that just clinched
NB>> it... (G)
RH> That is convenient!
Certainly was. :)
RH>> It would be nice to get one the size that the Shipps have in their
RH>> area but I'd gladly settle for one the size that is in Brockport.
NB>> Their usual m.o. nowadays seems to be the bigger stores... especially
NB>> when opening new market areas.... dunno if they'd scale down a little
NB>> for WF after Raleigh...
RH> It's actually Cary they're looking at--but they sort of flow into each
RH> other. There would be enough distance between the two that a good
RH> sized store in both locations would be workable.
Pretty much all they build nowadays are the larger ones... And some of
the medium sized ones locally have been remodeled to become larger,
like the one down the (back) street from the church, on Mt Read Blvd...
NB>>> She says she's ready to write a letter
NB>>> to Danny, pleading with him to give her back her access... ;)
RH>> He might write back telling her to move to a place that has one. (G)
NB>> He might... (G) One never knows, though... :)
RH> True. (G)
It's fairly unlikely, actually, that they'd be considering TX, since
that's moving further inland from the Coast... so far all the expansion
has still been East Coast states... But the market might be appealing
to them, all the same....
NB>>> Before moving to VA, she'd been here in Rochester (got her
NB>>> nursing degree at Roberts Wesleyan)... well and truly hooked...
NB>>> ;) She was here in town for the memorial service last week...
RH>> Did she stock up on her favorite Wegman's goodies while in town?
NB>> Couldn't... she was flying out of Rochester.... Bad enough that she'd
NB>> acquired more clothes from her sisters along the way...
RH> We've mailed stuff to ourselves when we've flown and not had the
RH> suitcase room or weight to take extra acquisitions back.
I think she was already putting together a box of things to mail to
herself...
RH> A few years ago when we flew out west for Christmas, we each took a
RH> checked bag & carry on. Southwest allows 2 checked bags for free so
RH> we just bought another suitcase for the extra stuff and checked it.
That worked out fine, then... :)
NB>> She'd flown into Boston, rented a car there, and had spent some time
NB>> driving around the East Coast, visiting family and friends in VA, PA
NB>> and NY before ending up in Rochester in time for the service... The
NB>> trip had been planned before, and she extended it just a little for
NB>> the service...
RH> God's timing--perfect as, always.
Absolutely. :)
NB>> Hopefully she had a chance to at least get some of her favorite
NB>> Wegmans goodies whilst in the area... :)
RH> Hope so. We'll have the camper plus the car we can load up with
RH> goodies, both from there and Olindo's.
You'll be able to get more than usual, now... :)
RH>> Steve's younger sister got a 2 year nursing degree just out of high
RH>> school but a few years ago went to Robert's to get her B.S. in nursing.
NB>> It's a good school for nursing, from what I've heard... :) Bekah went
NB>> on to get her masters as Nurse Practioner... she's a pediatric nurse,
NB>> NICU in particular... :)
RH> Sounds like she's doing well then. I'm not sure where Steve's sister
RH> is working now, or in what field of nursing but she's not retired yet.
Nurses, especially good ones, are in high demand... :)
