This is an example of setup.cmd when you use static IPs in your local
network.

The IP in line
ifconfig lan0 192......
is the IP of the computer you have the setup.cmd on screen. Change it
so that
192.168.49.11
gets readed as
the IP your router owns - except the number behind the last dot, that
means
192.168.2.x
whwereas the IP of your router is
192.168.2.1 (or may be 192.168.1.1)
The first 3 numbers have to be identical on each computer (router
looks here like another PC even as it is not a PC.
the 4. number has to be different on each. No more changes needed!

This is the rest of an sample (route -fh and arp -f and so on are
missing) of an computer using DHCP.

Yes, see above. You have to run setup.cmd after you've saved it to get
it working.

You are speaking about connections to your local network, not a remote
one. Connections to a remote one are done by the router. That is the
section declaring the connection to your provider, not the one for
your own net. Commonly your provider will use DHCP to assign your
router an IP for his (not your) network. Your network has 192.168.x.y.

Yes, your router owns 2 different IPs: 192.168.1.1 (or 192.168.2.1 as
its IP connectiong to your local net and either DHCP or another IP to
connect to the provider. For that it is the router.

ISDNPM (ecsconnet) or injoy tries to hide that from you.
