Indiana Jones was seen kissing Large Marge and telling us:

IJ> against NL teams, and different teams at that.
Hell, writers can't make an effective evaluation with NO interleague play. I
think that they should retire the MVP trophy and replace it with a POY
trophy. That *should* eliminate the so-call character issue and put the onus
on the writers to justify not picking a player because he won't give them an
interview (Eddie Murray and Albert Belle come to mind. Look at how some guys
curry favor with the writers when they do interviews. It's like watching Nuke
doing an interview as scripted by Crash Davis. They don't say much other than
the standard cliches because they know that they'll be crucified for speaking
their mind. The ones that DO speak their mind, do so because they figure that
they've got nothing to lose. I'd be willing to bet that if the writers didn't
vote on awards, the players would be singing a different tune during
interviews) or because they don't like him because he's too cocky for them
(Barry Bonds). The one thing that I liked about the Sporting News Awards is
that they let the people INVOLVED with the game do the voting. They may have
a few axes to grind, however, they've been a lot more objective than the
writers (Look at the bruhaha that the writers caused with the Belle-Vina
incident. They were up in arms about the incident but with the exception of
the Brewers, the rest of the baseball players supported what Belle did. Even
second basemen thought that Belle did the right thing).
