I drove an RD-350 Yamaha a friend had and the performance was nothing
short of astonishing, had it's own oil resevoir for mixing
2 stroke oil you just had to keep filled.

A Honda of St. Pete salesperson recounted to me how a Harley rider
had entered the shop for a test drive on a used RD-350.
Assured he could handle a 350 he got about four feet flipping it over
on himself landing in the ER.

A tweaked water cooled version used in professional racing was capable
of 147 MPH average lap speeds in the hands of an expert rider.
This in 1977!!!

-> And earlier before the Two Stroke ear in the US I lusted after the Areil

I didn't know that was a 2 stroke but even though I'm younger than you
I saw one of those classics in Treasure Island FL at the Driftwood beach
bar way back in the 70's

It sure had a sexy macho real business machine look to it
but I never heard it fired up.
