Yes, "Turn off DHCP service in the router", why hasn't anybody of the 
knowledgeables told me to do so prior to everything?

As David told, it doesn't look worth the effort. After all, with my 
laptop I have to travel here and there in the outside (Windy) World, and 
it is quite clear now I'll be better off with DHCP.
