-=> Quoting Matt Bedynek to Michael Andrews <=- MB> Also another nice feature would be to have ANSI detection. Binkley can MB> display ANSI codes but when calling a BBS, ANSI detection does not MB> work when calling with Bink's Terminal. This opens up a whole can of worms. BinkleyTerm's terminal is bare- bones to say the least. It's not a very important part of the program, and doesn't detract in any way from the use of the system. I'd like to see an ANSI emulation that doesn't rely on ANSI.SYS - with Bink/2 and Bink/NT, neither provided a driver that worked in the console screens consistently. There's a glitch in using ANSI emulation as a VT102 - it mostly works, but there's a clear to EOL sequence that some ANSI drivers interpret as clear to end of SCREEN, making full screen UNIX apps unusable. I like having the ability to dial by node number, so usually use Bink to dial, then shell out to DOS and run Procomm Plus. It adds another step, but it works. Then there's the scrollback buffer, and the inability to save separate capture files... :) Like I said, it's workable and doesn't detract from the mailer, which is what I use Binkleyterm for. --kW --- Blue Wave/DOS v2.30* Origin: realitycheckBBS - San Francisco, CA +1 415 666 0339 (1:161/418) SEEN-BY: 50/99 157/534 620/243 622/419 623/630 625/100 626/660 665 667 668 SEEN-BY: 626/670 633/2 640/820 711/401 409 410 413 416 430 501 808 809 934 SEEN-BY: 711/955 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 @PATH: 161/418 84 55 270/101 396/1 157/110 534 626/660 711/401 808 934 |
