Hi there Andy,
-=> Quoting Andy Ulrich to All <=-
AU> I don't know if I should give any of the government pinhead's and
AU> idea, but as far as I know it is illegal to listen to cordless phone
AU> freq's and conversations but if they wanted to do some thing about it
AU> they would have made it illegal to have the freq's programed into a
AU> scanner. You see they want pacify those who wanted the scanner
AU> enthusiast stopped but not enough to put teeth in the law. So the
AU> passed some more feel good legislation that made bad law.
Funny thing is though that although it is illegal, those things *because*
they are cordless can quite often get stray signals from other cordless
phones in the same street :) Sometimes you can understand whats been said,
sometimes you can't..but because while you're on the call to someone else
that you can actually get the stray frequency, I wonder if it's illegal to
stop the conversation you're having just so you can try and make out the
stray signal :)
Food for thought, anyway :)
Cheers,
Frank
