Andrej's patched driver from Hobbes works well for me, and I get the 
impression that it is faster than 2.1. I am also using a coaxial 
connection and am therefore limited to half-duplex. The patched 2.2 file 
is surprisingly about 2.5 kB smaller than 2.1.
