Better to get two Phillipine Armscor semi-auto .22 rifles and several
bricks of ammo, and give one to a friend, all for the same price. :-)
This is wierd, now that I have the 10/22 outfitted so nice, I don't want
to muck it up as much, and I'm using the Armscor a lot more. It fires
the .22cb shorts just about as well as the 514 (bolt action .22lr
remington). Sometimes the cb's have just enough oomph to push the bolt
back a bit on the Armscor, but not enough to cycle by any means. I can
feed the cb's in one at a time from the magazine, or through the ejection
port either with or without the magazine in place. And the sound
comparison between the 22" barrel and the 514's 24" barrel is close
enough to be called the same.
So... now that I've got a rifle that I can still shoot the .22cb's from,
I'm thinking of having the 514 reamed out to .22magnum. That would be a
very nice setup, don't you think?
