We have to keep in mind that (for the most part) we're just Sysops. We're
not running a network for NASA, or IBM, or anything that's extremely
sensitive, so it stands to reason that we shouldn't get our "undies in a
bunch" about security to the point of paranoia.
Maximus is quite secure, the key/access system is quite secure, and the
barricades (unless you use stupid passwords like "PASSWORD") are quite
secure.
There's no need to get deeply concerned to the point where you remove
everything that makes the system easier to run for you. After all, if you
want -real- security, set up the BBS, then don't let anyone call it. That's
as secure as you're going to get.
No, Max is secure as long as you're paying attention. You're worrying far
too much. Relax and enjoy! :-)
