Nobody in that class became a criminal, unless a doctor defrauding
Medicare. (It was an advanced-math class.)
I've seen more make-work stuff assigned (when I was a student) mainly to
get the teacher out of teaching, and that's a bad enough situation without
any encouragement of more.
