| subject: | Builtin SQL Engine? |
hello.
i wonder if a builtin sql engine (db2/2) would make os/2 much more
attractive for developers...
some time ago i wrote a little database like program to record question-
naires and to create statistical reports of this data (all in all a rather
primitive program i must admit...).
now, as i have looked into sql a bit and how to use it from a programming
language, i found so many ways to ease programming nearly every program
that i can't quite understand why os/2 does not feature an sql engine:
where os/2's builtin internet capabilities are certainly quite nice for
most people, imagine what such an implemented sql engine would mean,
especially to programmers and advanced user, but also to simple users who
could choose from so many sql based databases and utilities that they
could not have a single look at any of them in a day soon!
i think this would be, except maybe from powerful builtin peer-to-peer
networking, the final kick to push os/2 into the marketplace, may it be
soho or corporate usage!
you don't think so?
bye bye
