You be surprised what entering a contest will do for your flying skills. You
don't have to enter a full fledged contest, just try the fun flies until you
feel comfortable.

Are you sure it didn't come undone from the crash, did you do a range test
when you first started to fly that day and charge the batteries up for 24
hours the night before? The charging and range check are very important. I've
meet guys that charge them up right after flying which is a good idea but the
everything sits around for a week or two and then they go flying; what they
don't realize is that the batteries start to self discharge so they are
flying on batteries that aren't fully charged. Also I've seen guys fast
charge Nicads that weren't meant to be and figured therew as nothing wrong,
Fast charging overheats and damages normal Nicads.
