Yes, the Mk-6b was modified to the 6-3 wing and the LE slats
got back on. Now that was a kite to fly. The slats were operated by
the air flow. At a slow speed, the wing has to be nose-up a bit to
increase lift and that would present the lip of the slat to the air
pressure and slide it open. Neat.
