Well, not all current day professors teach that.  I am only 21 and half way
through my Bachelors degree program (in Comp. Sci.) and one of my teachers in
Basic class said the same thing as you.  That is, he said that goto's weren't
inherently *bad*, but you had too understand when and why to use em.
Of course, another teacher (same school) says that Goto's are basically evil,
and should be avoided at all costs.  Go figure.
