| subject: | Voice Response |
Hi : I'm doing some research into voice response systems. OS/2 seems to be the platform of choice for this type of technology. Does anyone have any experience with voice response development kits like FAR Voice for OS/2 that they would consider relaying? My experience has been limited. I have done a few things under DOS with DiaLogic voice boards. The results were OK, actually, but memory constrained, etc. Programming in C at the state machine level was not very productive. A truely interesting product is a library called Now Your Talking for CA Clipper. All around, not a bad product, it just lacks the reliability necessary for a major voice response project. Ultimately, the product would allow a drag and drop interface, totally under OS/2. I've seen a couple of solutions that program under Windows, but run under OS/2. Perhaps someone will build a VisualAge class that will alow this type of functionality.
