Steve, there is a separate entry in the file prefs.js for the bookmarks
file, for example mine is:

1. user_pref("browser.bookmarks.file",
"C:\\Internet\\Bladwijzers\\bmark.htm");

So, basically, the file can be at any location you want and have any
name you want-

2. Repeating myself again (and again....) once more: do follow Mike
Kaply's good recommendation, and keep the mozilla program tree out of
the user files tree.

How to achieve?

Just a bit of organisation skills:

A- Put in the config.sys:

> REM Mozzarella
> SET MOZ_BIN=C:\Mozzarella
> SET Mozilla_home=C:\Internet\Gebruikers
> SET MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH=C:\Internet\Instekers

(gebruikers = users)
and reboot.

Create the user files directory tree. Can be anything you want, but to
keep it simple, let's take my example, while assuming "Steve" would be
your user profile and there isn't yet a profile with that name.

B. Create the directory C:\Internet\users\Steve

C. Copy *all of the files* of the directory where file prefs.js is in
(included prefs.js of course) to

    C:\Internet\users\Steve

D. Launch the mozilla profile manager; click on "create profile"; you'll
be pointed to C:\Internet\users\Mozilla\profiles\Default user;

Click on "choose folder", point to C:\Internet\users, and type as new
profile name: Steve

E. Click on FINISH; mozilla will tell you "there are already files in
C:\Internet\users\Steve, accept

Y/N (or something like that); accept, and you will be done and you will
be freed once and for always from mozilla troubles.

There is something to tell about the *.s and *.w files too, but me
thinks it's better not to take all at once.

Incidentally, at the files section of this very group there are examples
about all that put their by your humble servant. :-)
