DM> If it were a flow control problem, surely it would show on any

RS> No, a small block, non windowed protocol doesnt need flow control. For
RS> example with Xmodem, the sending comms prog sends a block, small one

Good point, didn't think of that. I knew that Zmodem went flat tack, and
only signaled if there was something wrong with the packet, but was
unaware that it could be upto 8 packets in front before the sending
modem corrected any errors. Hence that may expalain that the entire
REP Packet is sent in its entirety at first (say 6k), and then the
response from the upload window is "Retrying from 1024", and then the
CRC erros mount up.
Anyway, I heard that someone else has the problem, I saw it on one of
the modem suppport echos.
DM> It looks as if I will have to get serious with this & devote some
DM> time to sorting it out.
RS> Yeah, looks like it. Wouldnt be the first time that its something
RS> caused by a bizarre combination of things.
Well that will be two modem problems in as many months, the other being
this MaestroSpirit thing.
