-> Thank you for the greetings. Cyndy and I are well but Pinky is no
-> longer with us. Cyndy is still looking for Pinky every day.
-> I miss her very much but Cyndy misses her more. I have never seen a
-> bond like this between different species before. Cyndy looks for
-> Pinky every day. She calls for her all day long and spends all her
-> time on her playpen looking in the direction of where Pinky's cage
-> was. She would not eat for 4 days and still doesn't eat like she did
-> before.
-> My problem now is...should I get another Bird or just wait awhile
-> and see if she gets over grief?
Wolf,
I'm so sorry to hear about Pinky. I lost my 14 year old finch,
Beezus, last year so I know how you feel. They leave a gaping hole in
our lives and our hearts when they go. It sounds to me like Cyndy could
use a new friend, but only if you are ready to get a new companion,
also. Meanwhile just give Cyndy more attention; it could be an
opportunity to bond more closely with Cyndy. Her poor eating would
worry me too- maybe if you fed her some of her favorite foods at your
table, her appetite would perk up.
I share your sadness, and Cyndy's.
