Hi Bruce:
Beeman Laserization chronic dieseling problems.....so, someone other
than me had problems with LaserLube? Yes, like still dieseling after
over 1,000 pells. When I had Paul Watts remove the Beeman kit, the
Laser mainstring was bent out of line about 1/3 inch or so at one end.
Cocking a max of 5 minutes not something to worry about? Well,
Bruce, I'm pretty cheap and I can not believe that minumizing the time
the mainspring is compressed doesn't increase the spring lifespan.
Also, I hunt with a pell in the chamber and the airarm uncocked. When
it is time to shoot, I cock. If the shot doesn't get taken, I uncock.
I don't carry a cocked airarm in the field, etc for more than 5 minutes
before uncocking it. Seems common sense. Maybe carrying around
cocked all the time will still give one say, maybe five years of full
power, but I'd rather minumize the cocked state and have say, tten years
of full power. But then again, my wife says I'm cheap. I was,
however, NRA instructor trained when young and taught to never rely on a
safety never failing. Consequently, if my airarm is uncocked, then I
don't have to rely on the safety. My companions won't feel nervous if
they take the lead, etc.....so there are some compensating factors. I
am glad, however, that mainsprings are so durable.

But if Tim H>McMurray personally installs a Venomac Lazaglide
kit.....and
you treat H>it gently (lube as instructed & don't keep it cocked for
more
than about H>5 minutes at a time),
Why would you think that leaving it cocked for more that 5 minutes would
cause any problem? I'm hoping this "Urban Legend" will die off some
day!
