yes..thank you. I wasn't finding anything plainly stated in the docs until i
opened one of my books on pm programming (real world pm programming) and it
strongly hinted at the same..i've fixed the code by passing the background
thread the handle to the semaphore and everything works like a charm now.

Now to do the guts..file structures and entry dialogs :)
