subject: Rear ends in 60`s Pontiacs

 Hi all,
I have a small problem. I own a '67 Tempest that I took the rear end
out of and put a ford 9" in. This rear end looks exactly like a
Chevrolet 10 bolt, is about the same configuration as a chevelle
and is about a 3.04 ratio. I now want to use this rear end in another
car I have (actually a shell) and need some information.
Anyone who has worked on these I would like to know if Pontiac made
it's own Rear end carriers/gear sets in 1967 or if chevrolet used the
same ones. I want to drop in a 10" gear set and Posi carrier but I only
have easy access to Chevrolet style ones. If there are minute
differences I wouldn't know until it was too late to reverse the
investment. Ideally I would buy a 3.73 gear set and a clutch posi for
this rear end. If it IS different I can scrap it and start planning on
putting a 12 bolt chevrolet in instead.
 Any ideas?
Raben Taggen I haven't lost my mind, I know exactly where I left it.
