probably not...

it doesn't matter to the receiving system... it matters to the sending 
system... storing this information in the message or packet allowed the system 
to have it handy when rescanning the outbound to qualify mail... the problem 
was that it wasn't zeroed out when the packet was sent... one reason for not 
zeroing it out was if the packet didn't go after being qualified, that 
information was lost...

in this day in time, cost is generally always zero...
