Congratulations, you own a Rockwell K56Flex modem.  Type ATI3 in
terminal mode to see what that says.  There is a Flash Rom upgrade
posted on the website for 56F modems (don't know that you need it
though).  Go to http://bestdata.com/pub.htm and see if the "AT Command
Set for all Best Data modems with Rockweell Chip-Set" gives you any more
info.  It's a zip file named at.zip.
I was just browsing with my USR Courier x2, I don't own a Best Data.
