Yes it flies very fast but when coming for a landing it floats in a very flat
glide, add flaps and it really slows down to a crawl.

The weight shouldn't matter. Just don't give it as much power (pedal the
switch) and it should go up alright. As far as the kink in the neck, have
someone else launch it while you control it. The biggest problem on a winch
is breaking the wing from too much power on the > but I'v winch.

How long a high start? Most of the time we use 1000ft high starts. It seems
the shorter ones don't get them up high enough.

The rubber bands are the only way to hold a glider wing on unless you've got
a scale ship. It sounds like you totally rebuilt the foam glider, wouldn't it
have been easier just to build a kit |-).
As far as flying from a school yard - we can fly any type of R/C here, City
by-law states no flying of R/C aircraft within the city limits except a city
approved sites, fines upto $1000.00 can be handed down.
Anyways, at 1:30AM it's getting late so I'll say bye and TTYL
