Marc, thanks for the suggestion. I'll consider checking into 4NT sometime,
but I was mainly looking for way to get the dos apps to run in a
normal-size dos window under XP. But Jimmie Rose has told me that
basically one can't get that result with some programs. So I'm fiddling
around with the Screen Size and Buffer Size settings in Properties-Screen
for each program.
Mainly just wanted to be able to continue using favorite programs like
Qedit 3.00 in a normal-size window, without having to use it in full-screen
mode. Which is a pain visually if you are switching back and forth between
the dos app(s), and any Windows-based programs you have running. Like I
usually have a web-browser and Solitaire running almost all the time, while
I am working on dos programs.
Main thing I wanted to know was the best way to get the IGMs I am
creating/updating to work right on the XP system when playing Lord. It just
is not very helpful when you are trying to debug a program if only a
partial view of its screen data can be seen. Thanks for the advice. And
my concern is for testing programs in Local mode, since I don't have a BBS
setup. But I am somewhat curious about whether people who call into a
Windows-NT/2000/XP/Server 2003 system running a BBS see a normal size
screen while playing the Lord door game and its igms. I assume the
caller's system and the comm program in use determines how something is
displayed to the viewer.
Will be returning to a normal schedule of Lord programming before long, and
I have a new project to do for Mike Ciesiensky, of updating his Turgeon's
House igm for him. Otherwise, I don't plan on creating any more brand new
igms for awhile. Be nice to know if anyone else on the Lord echo is doing
any Lord work at all this summer. Or Lord2 work for that matter, since
this echo serves all of the Lord-based games.
As far as I can tell, there is zero work underway for Wildcat Tournament
Lord. Be nice to hear from Solitude as to what happened to his wt-lord
work, if he is around. Donald
