Hi y'all.
Please don't construe my post as a bitch report, it's not that at
all. But, I am concerned at a number if issues related to me for
which I have no solutions for.
We have one copy of WP7 installed, because one user is already
falimiar with an earlier version - WP6. The rest of the office uses
Word 5.0 and as you can imaging, it's time for an upgrade. However,
despite all the many fine features WP7 has, it also comes with a lot
of apparent *bugs* at no extra charge. [grin]
For instance, when a number of tables are used. Sometimes there is a
point where deleting a row, or column, or even just the contents of a
cell results in the ENTIRE FILE going away! Yep. All you see is an
empty screen. Geez, that doesn't help production. At least "Undo"
undoes this problem, but the user is unable to change the table.
Another bugger deals with tables. Sometimes you can't change the
attributes of text. It simply stays stuck bold, or italic. I notice
there are some flags like "ignore bold" and/or "ignore italic"
imbeded in the codes, but attempting to remove them is tricky (they
seem to pop up elsewhere, or they are not there, but the attributes
still can't be changed.
We can't figure out how to use the counters, as they tend to function
unpreditictably. No time to provide details here...
There is even instances where WP7 forces uppercase letters, such as
those that are to be inside parens. Like "(a", except that it always
converts it to "(A" and the user has to backspace and overtype with
an "a" again. This is not a time-saver feature in this instance. I
don't know how to stop this.
Anyway, someone mentioned that there is an upgrade for this, and it
is my hope that all (or at least, many of) these bugs or 'issues' are
corrected. Does anyone have any comments of these problems and the
corrections that are supposedly available?
