You're sure that the file is NOT hidden?

I have the os2norev.$$$ in \os2\boot in my eCS 1.1. Sure, I had it NOT 
on WARP4 - bur it was showing the kernel revision. I'm not sure when 
the kernel got added the ability to check that file.
